CAMPERS

Camp Thrive welcomes children ages 6–12 with autism and other physical, developmental, sensory, or learning needs from across the Greater New Orleans area.

To help ensure a safe, supportive, and successful experience for every camper, families should review the following expectations and disclose all camper needs in the following areas:

We want every camper to have a safe and successful experience. Families should share any significant behavioral or safety needs, including aggression, self-injury, elopement, or wandering, during the application process so our team can understand your child and determine how we can best support them.
Campers participate in small, supportive groups, typically with one counselor for every three to four children. This allows our team to know each camper well and provide reasonable support and accommodations throughout the day.
We support a range of personal-care and dietary needs with respect and sensitivity. Families should share toileting, allergy, dietary, mealtime, or other personal-care needs during the application process so we can plan appropriate accommodations.
We know that a diagnosis doesn't tell us everything about a child. We want to understand who your child is, what helps them feel successful, and what support they need to participate in camp. Our team is always happy to talk through your child's individual needs with you.
